Developmental Assets are 40
attributes that have been defined by The Search Institute based on
three years of research. This
research was developed through surveys of over 100,000 sixth through
twelfth graders in 213 cities and towns across the United States.
·
Developmental Assets are “Building Blocks of Success”
for our children. The more assets a child reports having, the more likely
a child is to engage in positive behaviors and activities and less likely
to engage in risky activities and negative behaviors.
·
The Developmental Assets framework is a philosophy, not a
program, that fits into initiatives and programs you are already working.
The Developmental Assets framework works on any level…individual,
group, organization, community, business group, church group, etc.
·
This is an awareness of how we as community members can
build a community that supports kids in developing assets. We are building
a CONSPIRACY FOR KIDS to survive and thrive in Martin County.
