Parents as Ambassadors

Ambassadors

The ESE Parent Advisory Council (PAC), through a special sub-committee is currently developing a program called Parents as Ambassadors. The foundation of Parents as Ambassadors is a one-to-one partnership between two parents who share similar family and disability issues.  We are in the process of developing the guidelines for this program and preparing training components for those parents interested in becoming "Ambassadors".  We are modeling the program after a similar program that has been very successful  in the state of Alaska.  The sub-committee is working diligently to solidify a "first" training date and gathering materials that will be of great use to our first Ambassadors.  Please watch this page of the ESE website for further information about the Ambassadors program.  If you are interested in learning more about this pilot program please call Donna Hosang, Parent Liaison, at 772-219-1200 extension 30476.  You may also email for more information: hosangd@martin.k12.fl.us
